TurkStream will connect the large gas reserves in Russia directly to the Turkish gas transportation network. In this way, a reliable source of energy for Turkey and Southeastern Europe is created. About 700km of the pipeline will be within the Turkish waters and within the Turkish Exclusive Economic Zone in the Black Sea. A MER will ensure that this part is developed in accordance with Turkish environmental standards and legislation.
